Imagined Glassboro Mural Project: Evolution of Agriculture in Glassboro

Location of the Mural

The mural would go up on the first floor of the library next to the stairs. It’s a location that gets a lot of traffic from students whether they’re walking to class, advising, or just to find a study spot. Currently, there's a painting on the wall that’s nice, but as far as I know, doesn’t have much to do with Glassboro. It would be easy to view for those who look for it but subtle enough that it blends in. The social setting of the library is mixed. On the first floor, it’s ok to talk quietly, so it isn't as tense as the upper levels. There are many pieces of art in the library, so the mural would fit right into this space. The library has an abundance of information within thousands of books and artifacts. The location connects with the theme of the artwork because just like the library, the mural is also telling a story about the history of agriculture and Glassboro’s history. The mural would be a more accessible way to learn about history and would only enhance what the library already has.
