The Abbottmaid Convenience Store was located at the intersection of Main and High Street, where the Veteran’s Memorial Plaza in the Town Square is located today (39.70289, -75.11205). The store was owned by Charles Abbot. The photographer is likely standing where the modern day Rowan University Administrative Building is on 6 East High Street (facing the Veteran’s Memorial). In this photograph, we can see automobiles parked on the side of the street and two people in front of the store. There are also several people gathered by the car in the middle of the picture. The building across the street (on the right side of the photograph) is home to a comic book store today. Even though most of the buildings on the Abbottmaid block have since been demolished, the street’s commercial activity looks familiar today.
