  The place where this mural will be located is dynamic, in the sense that it has changed over time and will likely continue to evolve in the future. The proposed mural will be placed on the exterior of the Whitney Center, which sits at the nexus of Whitney Avenue, Route 322, and Rowan Boulevard. It is a prominent location which faces the Rowan Boulevard circle, a heavily trafficked area by pedestrians and vehicles. Today, the traffic circle is an iconic crossroads between Rowan University and its expansion into downtown Glassboro. However, this wasn't always the case. This area used to be a neighborhood in the days of Whitney Glassworks. The historic Whitney family estate was also located close by and is now part of Rowan University. 
  Placing the mural on the outside of the building would make it accessible to those who cannot enter this building, which is secured due to it serving as a dormitory. It would also make the Honors program more accessible by advertising it to existing Rowan University students, who have the opportunity to apply to the program after their admission, and prospective students. It would also likely increase community connections through increased collaboration with community groups who become more aware of the Honors mission to "Think, Thrive, Share."
  
  
  The  building itself is also visually appealing, so having a mural discussing aspects of Glassboro’s past in this location would likely be seen by a varied audience: Rowan University students and staff, Honors students, Glassboro community members, patrons of the businesses in the area, and prospective students. It will highlight the dynamic nature of this place. The location and artwork will work together to inform its viewers of the connections between Glassboro’s past, present, and future.
